The Strings and Steps festival of the year 2016, held at the Stein Auditorium in India Habitat Centre, was the fifth annual rendition of the program. The lineup of performers of this year included several renowned and well respected virtuosi of the foeld of Classical Music and Dance.
The Tabla-Pakhwaj jugalbandi performed by Ustad Akram Khan and Fatehsingh Gangani was one of the most riveting perfrmances of the evening. Malti Shyam’s entrancing Kathak performance was followed by Vani Madhav’s mesmeric Odissi Performance.

Shri Amanendra Khatua, Dean of Foreign Service institute, along with other respected dignitaries, graced the evening.

The Strings and Steps Group Performance concluded the evening, the music of which was composed by Pandit Debu Chaudhari. Shri Neel Ranjan Mukherjee and Sangeeta Majumdar, the Hawaiian guitar player and kathak dancer duo, gave a fascinating performance, with Zuheb Ahmed Khan and Zakir Akhtar Khan on the tabla and Rajesh Pandey with vocal.
